White River Arkansas

It was mid September of 2020 when we managed to find White River Arkansas, our first stop and stayover in the rv on our way to Myrtle Beach South Carolina. The White River runs approximately 720 miles throughout its journey through the great Ozark Mountains downward into the state of Arkansas’s lower delta region. I personally found the river to be both eerie and amazingly beautiful. The White River is a fisherman’s dream. The eerie part of it was the fogginess that we woke up to, and seeing the haze surrounding the rivers edge and the tree lines.

The middle picture is me sitting at the edge of the river fishing. Although I never caught a fish that evening, their was plenty of them flopping around. Fishing is one of the most relaxing hobbies I have found. I could care less if I actually catch a fish, its more about taking in nature and admiring my surroundings.

One of the most exciting things that happened to us at the White River, was on our way to the campsite, we had a bald eagle fly overhead. I could not believe my eyes when I first saw it, but their was no mistaking what it was. No wonder why the bald eagle is the national emblem of America, it is one of the most spectacular birds I have ever seen.

The humorous side of our visit was when we finally tucked ourselves in for the night. Tired from the long drive, and snuggled up in our blankets, it seemed that as soon as our eyes closed, the buzzing began. Unfortunately for us, the mosquito’s had found their way into our rv and made a home and we were their dinner. I guess all of the in and out of the trailer for our parts and supplies to make a campfire we had managed to let the bugs in. 🙁 That in itself is a lesson learned.

I hope someday you too can stop by White River Arkansas and enjoy it like we did. It is a stunning place, despite the bugs. Our plans are to visit again someday once we retire.
