The Law of Attraction

The law of attraction, manifestation, dream big! This is not a new concept, its been out there in the world, for who knows how long. But why does it work for some, and not for others? I wonder about this, personally. After looking into it, I have discovered that I have never known what I truly wanted. I have just wanted to live, and that’s it. I never really looked at my life beyond this point. And the point is, I am living, I am typing this write now, I am breathing, I am living.

People who succeed, know what they want. The actor Jim Carey, wrote himself a 5 million dollar check, 5 years prior to becoming an established actor. He told himself, that was what he wanted, he believed it would happen and he took baby steps to make it happen. He didn’t just dream about it, he visualized it, and it happened. He manifested it.

My youngest daughter has proved that the law of attraction works. She started out enjoying taking photographs. She believed she would be successful as a photographer, and she researched her way to make it happen. She is my youngest child, and in a town full of already established photographers, she is one of the top 3 within her first 2 years of practicing. I still remember when she started, and she was leery of her prices and she thought no one could really afford to pay a higher price for quality work, so she worked for very little. Then she started watching videos of the worlds top photographers and she learned that people would pay for quality work, she just had to say they would, and it happened, because she believed it would. I find that fascinating, don’t you?

One time during one of her visits with me, I also noticed she had an unusual screen saver on her phone. The screen saver said, “Your bank account is growing.” I found that very odd. So I asked her, and she explained to me, that as soon as she believed that her bank account would start growing, it did! Her screen saver was a visual reminder of what she wanted for herself, and in order to manifest it, she had to read it, as if it was happening, which she says it was.

I have included a video for this blog, to help you better understand this concept. My hopes is that you will manifest what you want.

Best wishes,

Bridgette~

The Willow Tree

The Willow Tree Weeps In The Wind

Not Only For Sorrow But For Joy

And Why It Bends For Happiness

No One Else Seems To Know Or Understand

But The Tree Itself Knows

For It Was Given The Gift Of Life

I wrote this poem sitting in a high school class when I lived in Texas. My high school years were the most terrible, turbulent years for me. I was dealing with physical, emotional, and sexual abuse. Quite honestly, I do not know how I survived. I was so isolated as a teenager. Know one seemed to notice, and I rarely talked, at least not much. Have you ever been in one of those families where children are to be seen not heard? Yep, that was me, that was mine.

It has been so many years since I wrote this, yet, I still remember every word. Looking at the words, and reading them out loud to myself, I’m beginning to analyze. Somewhere, deep within me, I must have been holding onto a small flame. A flame for life. I had dodged the bullet so many times, fighting for my life, fighting just to live.

I can see the words, “No One Else Seems To Know”, and they are haunting. I believe people, children, as well as adults, and even the elderly, tend to hold their abuse close to them and that is one of the most daunting things that keeps the abuse going. Perpetrators seem to hold some kind of power over us, over them.

Until…..

For me, something inside of me just snapped one dreadful afternoon. Instead of taking the abuse, I stood up and fought. If I was going to die, I wasn’t going to just lay down and do so. I was going to fight to live. And I did. Here I was a scrawny teenager fighting a 6 foot grown man. The look on his face, to this day, remains frozen in my mind, it remains frozen in time. I took my life back that day. I became that Willow Tree, grateful, for the gift of life….

*If you notice, quiet people, whether the young or old, please talk to them. I personally feel like you can make a difference in someone’s life. Reach out to that kid on the playground, sitting by themselves. Reach out to that elderly person, alone. Take some time for a conversation. Who knows, you just might make a friend, or save a life.

Thank you for reading,

Self Pity

Something about this poem written by D H Lawrence resonates within my soul. The poem is written in free verse.

The poem circles around the central three words, “sorry for itself”, returning twice, once in the second line and then again at the poems conclusion.

It is suggested the way self-pity is self consuming and, ultimately self destructive…

Brilliant!

G.I. Jane

One of the best movies that inspires me to never give up! Definitely, a must watch!

A Battle For Our Health

Have you ever noticed from the time you walk into a grocery store, or a store like Wal-Mart, that we are surrounded by bad food. Everything that will fatten us up, make us unhealthy people if we so choose, is standing there staring us down. On the other hand, healthy choices are often high priced, and hard to find. We, as consumers, sadly to say, are almost oblivious to these facts. Why should it cost us more to make healthy choices?

If we as consumers, fall into these unhealthy traps surrounding us, this is how the process works.

  1. Cheap, unhealthy foods tend to make us gain weight.
  2. Being over weight, puts strains on our health not only physically but our mental health as well.
  3. When we are unhealthy we tend to seek out medical doctors and psychologist for our issues.
  4. These entities are thriving financially because of our poor choices.
  5. These entities are growing bigger and bigger and gaining more power over us.
  6. Even the health field is growing because we are searching for ways to improve our physical fitness, thus the increases in the supply for demand.
  7. Unhealthy people tend to live shorter lives.
  8. The cycle continues.

It all seems maddening that we have to pay extra to make healthy choices. If you think for one minute that our governments and big corporations really care about us, I personally, don’t think so. I feel like we are just numbers, and expendable. We are a means to fund their strengthening powers over us.

I wish I had an answer to fix all of this, but I do not. I am just one person, one consumer, striving to be healthy in a non-healthy world. The only thing I can think of at this moment, is to offer some advice. Look after yourself, cause nobody else seems to truly want you to be healthy. Start growing your own food, and buy less of the junk out there. Be aware of what’s going on around us. Take responsibility for your choices and your health.

Just thoughts~
